The Challenge
Quest was approached to help reposition Hastings Girls’ High School. The need was clear: improved branding and communications to better connect with key audiences; prospective students and families, alumni, stakeholders and the wider community.
Like many schools with a long history, perception hadn’t kept pace with reality. The opportunity was to reshape how the school was understood balancing its strong legacy with a proud, authentic Akina positioning.
Our Thinking
Quest focused on what already underpinned the school:
A strong legacy and sense of tradition
A diverse, inclusive student community
A supportive environment focused on empowering young women
Deep roots in the local Akina community
From there, we clarified the positioning and built a brand system to communicate it consistently.
Brand & Design
The design direction was deliberately simple:
Clean, confident typography
A vibrant, inclusive colour palette
Real student storytelling- copy, photography and video
Structured layouts to make information easy to navigate
Applied across the website, signage, print and digital campaigns
The Result
Clearer positioning with prospective families
Stronger connection with alumni and community
A more confident, consistent brand across all touchpoints
The key takeaway was that the school didn’t need reinventing. It needed to be seen for what it truly is.
