Wines of Gisborne

The assignment was conducted with key partners Wines of Gisborne, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, Auckland University, Gisborne District Council and Tairawhiti Regional Partnerships.

 

The brief was to help drive the future development of Gisborne Winegrowers and in doing so for them to be recognised as a world class, ultra premium wine growing region.

 

Quest was contracted to assist in the delivery of a fresh strategic direction for the association. A series of planning workshops, stakeholder presentations and site visits assisted this process.

 

The terms of reference included four key areas of development: Infrastructure (water, land, climate, compliance, signage); Skills and Training (future market needs, gaps in delivery, appropriate skills and training programmes); Sustainable Land Management (Bio-dynamics and organics, viticulture research, Green Globe & Qualmark Green accreditation and finally Marketing (Pernod Rickard promotional activities, customer research, market segmentation, New Zealand Food & Wine Tourism Marketing Network).
