Vet Services Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s largest privately owned mixed veterinary practices, providing trusted care across companion animals, equine, and production farming throughout the wider Hawke’s Bay region. With more than 70 years of history and multiple clinic locations, the organisation required a modern digital presence that reflected both its scale and strong community connection.
Vet Services Hawke’s Bay had evolved significantly over time, with growing service divisions, multiple clinic locations, and increasingly diverse customer audiences. The existing digital experience needed to better communicate the breadth of services available while improving usability, consistency, and engagement across both rural and urban audiences.
There was also an opportunity to strengthen the brand’s positioning around trust, local ownership, and community connection – key differentiators in an increasingly corporate veterinary market.
Quest partnered with Vet Services Hawke’s Bay to deliver a refreshed digital and brand experience designed around clarity, accessibility, and human connection.
The project included strategic website redevelopment focused on improving navigation, mobile responsiveness, SEO performance, and customer usability across multiple service categories including companion animals, farm and lifestyle services, and the specialist equine division, VS Equine.
Alongside the website redevelopment, Quest helped strengthen the organisation’s storytelling and visual communication through authentic photography, clearer service messaging, and content designed to better reflect the people, values, and community relationships behind the brand.
The digital strategy also supported improved visibility for specialist services, educational content, seasonal campaigns, and customer engagement initiatives across both production farming and companion animal audiences.
The refreshed digital platform created a more connected and user-friendly experience for clients across Hawke’s Bay and surrounding regions. Following the redevelopment, Vet Services Hawke’s Bay experienced a threefold increase in mobile website traffic, reflecting stronger digital visibility, improved mobile usability, and changing customer behaviour toward mobile-first browsing.
Customers can now more easily access information, locate services, engage with educational resources, and connect with the appropriate clinic or veterinary team. The project also helped reinforce Vet Services Hawke’s Bay’s position as a trusted, locally owned veterinary provider with deep roots in the rural and wider community.
