The Challenge

Quest was approached to help reposition Croplands Spray Shop, aligning it more closely with the global Croplands brand while retaining its unique local identity. Croplands is a prominent manufacturer and distributor of spray application equipment. The business has been serving the agricultural sector since 1972 and is a subsidiary Nufarm Ltd.

The business operates as a key distribution and service hub for Croplands in New Zealand – selling, servicing and maintaining a wide range of sprayers, parts and equipment for growers nationwide.

The challenge was to strike the balance: bring consistency with a global brand known for innovation and performance, while preserving the practical, hands-on personality that local customers trust.

Quest focused on what already made the business strong:

  • Deep technical expertise and workshop capability
  • A long-standing, family-led legacy in the spray equipment industry
  • A reputation for service, relationships and after-sales support
  • Its role as a trusted, NZ-wide distribution point for Croplands

From there, we aligned the brand more closely with Croplands’ global positioning-focused on efficiency, reliability and innovation -while keeping the local tone grounded and practical.

The design direction balanced global consistency with local usability:

  • Alignment with Croplands’ visual language and product positioning
  • Clear, functional layouts to support ecommerce and parts navigation
  • Strong product-led storytelling-equipment, components and solutions
  • A practical, no-nonsense tone reflecting the workshop and field environment

Applied across the ecommerce website, product categories, and service communications.

  • Stronger alignment with the Croplands global brand
  • Clearer positioning as a trusted NZ distribution and service hub
  • Improved usability for customers sourcing parts, equipment and servicing
  • A brand that feels both professional and grounded in the realities of the field

The key takeaway was that the strength was already there. The job was to align it without losing its local edge.
