Auto Trail is a Hamilton based family business, which has been 100% New Zealand owned and operated since 1987. Originally, the business operated out of a small garage and a rep vehicle, providing automotive accessories to automotive workshops, garages and service stations, but as the business grew so did their functional requirements.
The launch of their full e-commerce website in 2018 serves as a means for Auto Trail to reach customers outside of the Waikato and offers the ability for customers to view the range of products available. With the ability to add more products and suppliers over time, the new website enables Auto Trail to increase their online store product range as and when required.
Quest was asked to develop an e-commerce website solution and provide support as required for ongoing operational and marketing activity.
The website brief was for an automated product importing and management system, which would automatically update stock levels, product description and images from a CSV file via FTP server at set intervals, as well as incorporate an additional supplier manual import functionality. The ability to automatically notify the supplier, via email, when one of their products is purchased & instructing them to ship the product was also included.
